Just quit your job and travel… its easy right?

We are crazy, right? I mean we have to be. You are probably sitting there thinking to yourself that we are definitely crazy or, possibly you are a little jealous! Who just one day quits their jobs- ones that they enjoy, have worked at for several years, and have an established relationship with?

Apparently we do. We are Cindy and Carlos, life-long hotel employees, who have just quit our jobs to pursue our desire to travel the world. You can read more about us in the ‘About Us’ section of our website; however, our first blog entry is devoted to how we decided to take this leap of faith into the unknown to pursue a dream.

With such an exciting journey in its inception, we would be remiss not to mention that this was to a degree, a difficult decision. We have two dogs, that we love dearly, who cannot join us on this voyage. We are fortunate to have family that will care for them in our absence; however, it still hurts to know that we will not see them in person for a length of time. We are also both leaving good careers at incredible companies.

Additionally, we have never had to fully investigate the term, “get your affairs in order” until this point in time. We can honestly say that we are still not sure that we fully comprehend what all of our affairs entail! (This could make for some entertaining future posts!).

But even with all of the unknowns, planning that has yet to happen, leaving loved ones, having our comforts and stabilities set aside; this is exciting! Our World Odyssey!

Throughout our marriage we began travelling, further away and longer each time. Travel became an addiction. Our longing to see the wonders that the world holds, eat cuisines as they are meant to be eaten, drink as much wine as we can find, learn the cultural customs of a country or region, see and learn the history of our human origins, etc. grew stronger with each trip.

In life it is very easy to maintain and stay comfortable. We have been fortunate to have a happy and comfortable life; living ‘the dream’ of having good jobs and a comfortable lifestyle.

Despite all of this,

“Life is not meant to be lived in one place… Travel. As much as you can. As far as you can. As long as you can.”

– A wise person (source unknown).

This is our new mantra.

We invite you to join us as we embark on our epic voyage to learn from the world:
